This origami teddy bear is very easy to make. With just a few simple steps, you’ll get have your own teddy bear that you can cuddle with. Don’t cuddle too hard though, it will shrivel and wrinkle.
Step 1: Start with a square piece of origami paper. If you only have regular 8.5×11 paper, follow these instructions to make a square sheet. You can also use these colorful Printable Origami Paper.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half by folding the top corner to the bottom corner.
Step 3: Fold the bottom corner of the top layer up about halfway.
Step 4: Turn the paper over.
Step 5: Again, fold the bottom corner up.
Step 6: Mentally divide the paper into 3 parts and fold the right 1/3rd over to the left.
Step 7: Fold the left 1/3rd over to the right.
Step 8: Fold those same flaps up at an angle. These are the ears.
Step 9: Fold the ears down like this. Teddy bears don’t have pointy ears, unless you’re trying to make a “fear”. Get it? Fox and bear makes “fear”? What, that was lame? K…Nevermind.
Step 10: Fold in the bottom left and right corners. Teddy bears don’t have strong jaws, unless you’re trying to make a…ok, ok I’ll stop.
Step 11: Turn the bear over.
Step 12: Now fold back the top left and right corners of the head. Teddy bears don’t have blocky heads unless…you want them to.
Step 13: You can draw on the face if you like.
