Difficulty: Easy
This easy origami sunflower is definitely easy, hence the name. It requires two separate sheets of paper and uses simple folds, so the final result is a pretty big origami sunflower.
It looks great on poster boards and the wall.
Step 1: Begin with a square piece of origami paper with color side down. If you only have regular 8.5×11 paper, follow these instructions to turn it into a square.
Step 2: Fold paper in half from left edge to right edge, then unfold.
Step 3: Fold in half again, but this time from top edge to the bottom edge, then unfold again.
Step 4: Fold the top left corner to the center.
Step 5: Fold the other three corners to the center. It should look like this when you’re done.
Step 6: Take a flap and fold outwards like so.
Step 7: Fold out the rest of the flaps.
Step 8: Turn the figure over.
Step 9: Now to make the stem. Get a new piece of paper and place it color side down.
Step 10: Fold the upper left corner down to the bottom right corner, then unfold.
Step 11: Fold the left edge to the center crease.
Step 12: Now fold the bottom edge to the center crease. It should resemble a kite like in this picture.
Step 13: Again, fold the bottom edge to the center crease.
Step 14: Take a portion from the bottom and fold it up diagonally as you see in the picture.
Step 15: Turn the figure over.
Step 16: Finally tape the sunflower to the stem. Good job!
