How to Make an Origami Frog

PinFollow the steps below to make this Origami Frog.
Difficulty: Medium

Learn how to make an origami frog with these helpful instructions and diagrams. As you can see, this frog may be a little more complicated than the other frogs due to the well defined legs and the blow up body. The legs do require some delicate folds because of how thin they are. However, even if you do an ugly job on the legs you should still be able to make them.

This origami frog is definitely awesome and if you enjoyed this one, you should also try the origami jumping frog.

Step 1: Start with a square piece of origami paper, but if you only have regular 8.5×11 paper,
follow these instructions to make a square sheet.

Step 2: Fold the paper in half from top corner to bottom corner.

Step 3: Fold in half again from left corner to right corner.

Step 4: Perform a squash fold with the top flap. To do this, open the top flap and fold the right corner to the bottom corner while creasing the sides.

Step 11: Open the flap upwards so that the left and right sides will fold in and meet at the center. Once you get it to look like the 3rd picture in this step, crease well.

Step 13: Take a layer from one side and fold it over to the other so you can get a smooth side.

Step 14: From the bottom corner, fold the left and right sides to meet at the center.
Pin

Step 15: Take either the left or right side and fold a flap over to get another smooth side and repeat Step 14.

Do this until all the smooth sides are folded and you should end up with the second picture in this step.

Step 17: Time to balance out the layers. Make sure there are four layers on each side of the figure.

Step 18: Let’s work on the legs. Take the pointy flap on the right side and do an inside reverse fold upwards.

(Basically, you open the flap a little and fold the leg up and close the flap again.)

Step 19: Grab a portion of the leg and do another inside reverse fold pointing outwards.
Pin

Step 20: Grab a small porition of the leg and do another inside reverse fold upwards.
Pin

Step 21: Repeat Steps 18-20 on the left side.
Pin

Step 22: For the rear legs, do an inside reverse fold pointing out for both legs.
Pin

Step 23: Do another inside reverse fold pointing the legs down.
Pin

Step 24: Take a little portion of the leg and do another inside reverse fold pointing out.
Pin

Step 25: Behind the frog is a small hole. Blow into the hole and the body and head will puff up.
