Follow these instructions to make an origami girl.
Emily, my 3rd grader niece, showed this origami boy I made to her sister Jasmine, and Jasmine asked if she could make an origami girl. Emily took on the challenge and came up with this design. It’s very easy to make with no tricky folds at all. Have fun!
Step 1: Start with a square sheet of origami paper with color side down. If you don’t have origami paper, follow instructions on how to make origami paper with regular 8.5×11 paper.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half from left to right, then simply unfold.
Step 3: Fold the paper in half again, but from top to bottom, then unfold again.
Step 4: Fold the top left and right corners to the center.
Step 5: Turn the paper over.
Step 6: Fold the top corner to the center crease.
Step 7: Turn the paper over again.
Step 8: Fold the left and right side so that their edges meet at the center, then unfold. We now have two new creases.
Step 9: Now fold the left and right edges to the creases you just made.
Step 10: Turn the figure over.
Step 11: Fold the bottom edge up to the bottom of the triangle.
Step 12: Fold up the bottom left and right corners.
Step 13: Turn the figure over. We’re almost done.
Step 14: Take the left corner flap in the center and fold some of it out, then fold it backwards to hide it.
Step 15: Draw on the face.
