Follow the instructions below to make this Origami Heart with Wings
As you can see, the origami heart with wings is a wonderful piece of work. It’s really neat how the wings are shaped like that and are able to protrude out to the sides the way they do. The origami heart with wings is sure to amaze kids and adults alike. It also makes a wonderful “post-it” note that is certain to brighten up someone’s day, but you’ll have to add your own adhesive.
There are a couple of folds that require some maneuvering to accomplish, but they’re by no means intricate or difficult. The pictures I took do an outstanding job in explaining the steps so there should be minimal complications.
Step 1: Start with a square piece of origami paper. If you only have regular 8.5×11 paper, follow these instructions to make it into a square sheet.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half, top to bottom, then unfold.
Step 3: Fold in half again, left to right, then unfold.
Step 4: Fold the bottom half in half by folding to the center crease.
Step 5: Turn the paper over.
Step 6: Fold the bottom corners to the center as shown.
Step 7: Fold the left and right sides to the center as shown, then unfold.
Step 8: Open the left flap.
Step 9: Fold the top part of the left flap in while tucking the crease under the almost trianglular shaped layer below, then flatten.
Step 10: Repeat on the right side.
Step 11: Turn the figure over.
Step 12: Fold the top down.
Step 13: Fold that same flap in half, then unfold.
Step 14: Open the lower half and crease the corners of both sides while pushing the center down, then flatten.
Step 15: Fold the trapezoid up in half.
Step 16: Then fold that little half down in half again.
Step 17: Fold the entire trapezoid up.
Step 18: Now fold that downwards in half.
Step 19: Fan out the trapezoid down.
Step 20: Pinch the middle with one hand while keeping the sides fanned out with your other hand.
Step 21: Fold the top inner and outer corners as shown.
Step 22: Turn the figure over and see the magic happen before your very eyes. Voila!
If you like, you may add smaller folds for more detailed wings.
