Follow the steps below to make this Origami Iris.

There’s no argument that the origami iris is very pretty. The flower is just so complete and almost lifelike thanks to the well shaped petals and the stamen. The white in the middle of the iris and petal also help bring it to life.
The origami iris isn’t really too hard to fold, but you must be able to follow instructions well and remember to use the pictures to help you if you’re stuck.
Step 1: Start with a square piece of origami paper, but if you only have regular 8.5×11 paper,
follow these instructions to make a square sheet.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half, folding the top corner to bottom corner.
Step 3: Fold in half again, folding the left corner to the right corner.
Step 4: Squash fold the upper layer. To do this, open the flap and squash the right corner to the bottom corner while creasing the sides.
Step 5: Turn the figure over as shown.
Step 6: Squash fold the left flap as well. To do this, make the left flap stand vertically, then open up and squash down.
Step 7: Lift up the upper layer of right side, open it up (by putting your finger in the pocket if necessary), and squash down.
Step 8: Squash the other 3 flaps just like you did on Step 7. Your model should look like this.
Step 9: Simply rotate it till it’s upside down.
Step 10: Fold the figure in half, then unfold.
Step 11: Fold the upper left and right edges to the center, then unfold.
Step 12: Squash fold the pocket. Basically, pull down the pocket at the middle and crease the sides. This will create a pointy little flap.
Fold the pointy little flap up.
Step 13: Squash fold the three other pockets and also fold their pointy little flaps up. When you’re done, your figure should look like this picture.
Step 14: Fold the upper layer of the left flap to the right to get a blank side.
Step 15: Fold the lower left and right edges to the center.
Step 16: Repeat Step 15 for the three other blank sides. Your figure should look like this.
Step 17: Fold the petals down or use a pencil to curl it.
Step 18: Once you fold all the petals down, it should look like this.
Step 19: You can also make the stem if you like. By now there should be a little rip at the bottom of the iris so you can stick the stem in.
